Good evening everyone!

The November general meeting of AZ4NORML is near.  We will be meeting this Saturday, November 21^st at 3PM at the Ward 6 Council Offices 3202 E. 1^st Street, 1 block South of Speedway Blvd and 1 Block East of Country Club Rd. inTucson, Arizona.  We will have a full agenda and will be asking for volunteers for the upcoming Cheech and Chong Concert, Willie Nelson Concert and the Fall 4^th Avenue Street Fair.  Please bring canned goods or nonperishable’s of any kind to donate to community groups as our “rent” for the room.  We have decided to postpone the drawing for the fall raffle.  We will be adding more prizes and rolling all tickets sold into our spring raffle with the drawing on April 20^th, 2010.  Please get your tickets at this Saturday’s meeting.

Our leadership committee meets every Wednesday at 3PM.  If you are interested in working at a grass roots level and making a difference in the community, we hope you will attend our leadership meetings.  Please RSVP to this email if you have not attended before.

The AZ4NORML music club meets every Monday at 1PM.  If you are interested in making sweet music with us,  please reply to this email for further information.

The AZ4NORML Hemp and Arts and Crafts committee meets the 2^nd Tuesday of every month between 1PM and 4PM.  We will be working to create new banners, signs and other projects.  We need you!  Call Tom for more information and directions 790-6772.

Phoenix NORML will hold its next meeting on Saturday, November 21^st from 3PM-420PM at Steele Indian School Park.  Come in the 3^rd Street and Indian School entrance, do not go through the main gate, park on the left right away and the meeting will be held in the South West area of the park by the bridge.

There was exciting news this week when the American Medical Association (a large group of doctors) agreed that marijuana should not be schedule 1 and that it does have medical value.  This is great news as it has been over 72 years since the AMA has recognized cannabis as medicine.  Read more about it here.  Read a blog on the issue here.

If you are travelling this winter, please don’t forget that the border patrol is out of control on I-8 and in and around Yuma.  If you are travelling with medicine, avoid Yuma and Interstate 8.  Please use Interstate 10 as an alternate, it has no border patrol checkpoints.  Please pass this information on to your friends and neighbors.
