Singapore sees rise in employment claims by local, foreign workers for fourth straight year
Salary and dismissal claims by local and foreign workers in Singapore have increased for the fourth year in a row. Last year, more than 11,500 people filed claims with the Manpower Ministry and the Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management (TADM) — nearly 20% more than the previous year. TADM said the rise could be linked to higher job turnover from retrenchments as well as salary payment issues from firms under financial strain. Over 80% of claims were resolved last year.
